FAQ
1)Why should I choose staircases made of steel?
Steel staircases have steel construction consisting of the elements– it makes them much easier to assemble and replace than, for example, in the case of stairs made of wood. Steel construction is also optically lighter, and more enduring.
2)What information is needed to choose a staircase?
Before meeting to choose stairs you would like to buy, you should made some measures of: height from floor to floor, thickness of the ceiling and size of the opening you made– or which you plan to make. The type of flooring and walls is also important (for example wood, concrete, plaster, etc.)
It’s perfect, when the client is able to provide any plans of the building, indicating with the place where staircase will stand, or at least a simple - even a hand-made drawing with described dimensions.
You should also consider a color of the construction and wood.
3)What about transport?
ATRIUM always ensures delivery in door-to-door system, so at the address provided by client. Cost of transport is added to the order.
It is also possible to take the order in person.
4) Is it possible to use colors different than given in description of standard kits?
Yes- ATRIUM provides the possibility of choosing all colors from the RAL palette (the only limitation is availability of some untypical colors at suppliers). This may even be a color such as orange, olive or dark blue. You can also apply different versions of the same color: for example black with or without gloss. ATRIUM recommends using colors tested by us, because of the versatility to match any interior. In addition, we are able to propose some structural colors, not available at any other manufacturer: old silver, old gold and old copper.
5) What kind of wood can be used for ATRIUM ’s constructions?
In general, we mostly suggest to use beech and oak wood, sometimes pine. It is always possible to stain wooden steps- a color depends on the client’s wish. Sometimes the client has special demands on the species of wood (ash, teak wood, merbau, pressed bamboo, etc.). In most cases we perform such a contract, and the only limitation is availability of the demanded material.
6) Can standard kits be modified?
Of course, it is possible to change quantity of elements (and also the height of stairs), arrangement, diameter (in the case of spiral staircases), colors, kind of wood, type of balustrade, etc. It is possible to customize every set to the clients’ stair-room.
7) Is this possible for ATRIUM to produce an individually designed construction?
Yes, it is possible. The customer provides us with his project (sometimes an architect who designs the building suggests a solution that in his opinion is the most suitable), or after receiving all data, taking measurement, etc., our designers can offer their own ideas.
8) Will a person with no experience be able to assemble constructions produced by ATRIUM ?
Of course. All constructions included in our offer are designed for self-assembly. For each set we attach assembling instructions (including video), and - if necessary, detailed drawings of the model purchased by the customer.
9) Have ATRIUM ’s constructions been tested for their safety and durability?
Yes. Each of our standard kits was examined by Building Researches Institute in Warsaw, which granted us approval stating the utility and allowing them for use. We have, moreover, TÜV Certificate, ISO 9001 Certificate and presently we are finalizing efforts to obtain the European Technical Approval (that allows to mark products with CE signature).
However, the most important confirmation for us are hundreds of satisfied customers.
10) How long will I wait for my order?
Standard kits and elements we constantly have on stock and we are able to complete all parts can be sent up to 7 working days. When we have to order steps according to needed measure and make a non standard kit, we need up to 21 working days counting from the approval of all details and advanced payment. Of course, we try to accelerate shipment as much as possible, if it is possible. We do not exceed time limits.
11) What about clearing and maintenance of a staircase?
The instruction sheet with detailed information about how to treat wooden and steel surfaces is attached to every order.
It is also very important to check tightening of all screws and bolts at least once for six months.
